“MERI FREE WALI MAGGI”, these were the sorcerous words which bowled over the gentry at Nestle India limited which was running a public contest marking the silver jubilee of their brand MAGGI, urging people to come up with new slogans to showcase their love and loyalty for this 2 minute toothsome snack which over the years has virtually become a staple diet for many. And who better for this occasion to turn up as the winner than our very own BHEEM Bhai (not a big surprise considering the fact that every significant activity on this planet is occurring in THE campus lately, THAPAR has become the focal point of the World press and media, big shot journalists have taken rooms in library and hostels, they surely don’t want to miss out on any BIG news coming their way, we at faking news being mutants don’t have to go through this rigmarole, GENE- X \m/). Well let’s not digress: P, so BHEEM Bhai it was who happened to win this contest. He was beaming and that happydent smile on his face surely spoke volumes of his utter delight.

On being asked how he came across such a thought provoking slogan, he flushed and told us that he just spoke out the reality, “10 Maggi bnao to sirf 2 ke hi paise aate hain, khane se pehle to sab yahin dikhte hain but ek baar Maggi pakda do to pta nahi kahan gum ho jate hain, FREE ki hi to hui.” Further he said that people even take iced tea and candies for freebies. (I wonder what is the big fuss about these worm like things that people are ready to stoop down so low for them, BTW eating it is a real tough job with those tiny tridents). When enquired about the faces of those slickers he preferred to be mute citing horde of students indulging in this disgraceful act the reason for his bad memory. On being pushed a little he somehow managed to recall this 3rd year CS guy who is always seen with his girlfriend on and off the campus. Books and notes constantly in his hands gave way for him being a CS guy. After having their sponsored snack they push off for Career Launcher.”3 saal mein ek baar bhi paisa nahi dia ,aur roz khane aata hai, pehle to akela aata tha par ab to dono khate hain”, said BHEEM who sounded rather untouched because money doesn’t flow out of his own pockets.
For those of you who have not been to Patiala since long here’s another piece of information coming your way, BHEEM now has pulled up stakes and come up with this business idea. He has set up his own cafeteria at the polytechnic college. And if you go by his word students there are not as swanky as engineering ones but they never miss out on paying their bills, but he still misses handing over those hot noodles to the regular customers.
For BHEEM it’s been a journey from making MAGGI to now officially being the poster boy for it. This guy definitely has a story for his children and grandchildren. Years of serving Maggi not just ensured him a spot on the Maggi pack but in the memories of many thapar students, they sure are not going to forget this "MACE-less" wonder.

The counter seems to have changed hands .... The person at the counter today looked remarkably like Gunny, sans younger!
