The archeological survey of India sent a shock wave in the entire nation and brought Thapar University one more time under the limelight when it came out with its latest research result, theNava Nalanda building which happens to be the library of Thapar University is said to have been facing the dusts of time even before its namesake, (what was a general perception till now)The Nalanda ,Patliputra. The department which was on a recent peregrination to the deemed university which was earlier in the news for the mighty Tanki (what people believe to be the next big thing, our own Indian answer to the arabs’ Burj Khalifa) came out with this piece of report after conducting all the recent carbon dating tests on the antediluvian building.
Navanalanda which boasts of having 10 trillion books (well that’s how much they have been able to count till now, most of which were donated by Maharaja Ranjit Singh who also used to spend a chunk of time, eve teasing in the premises of this sacred building) in its shelves was always considered second fiddle to the Nalanda. But with reports beaming in from the archeological survey of India, the people of Patiala are now relieved that the building has finally been acknowledged for the masterpiece it is.
Thapar students are beaming with joy that their university has finally made it big on the international stage and are expecting more companies to visit the campus for placements this season.
